Simple Smart Ways to Lose 3 Kilograms
According to SHAHEDNEWS, Surveys consistently find that many adults are only a few kilograms above the weight they consider their “comfortable” weight, which is why losing 3 kilos is one of the most common weight-loss goals.
If your goal is to lose 3 kilograms safely and keep it off, the most effective approach is usually to aim for 0.5–1 kg per week, meaning 3 kg can realistically be lost in about 3–6 weeks. Faster weight loss is often water weight or muscle loss and is harder to maintain.
1. Create a moderate calorie deficit
Weight loss occurs when you consistently consume fewer calories than you burn. A deficit of roughly 300-500 calories per day is generally considered safe and can produce about 0.5–0.75 kg of weight loss per week. For example to achieve a calorie deficient of 500, take a brisk 60 minute daily walk and skip the latte and biscuit.
2. Prioritise protein
Protein helps preserve muscle and keeps you fuller for longer. Include a source at each meal, such as fish, chicken, eggs, Greek yoghurt or legumes.
3. Fill half your plate with vegetables
Vegetables add volume and fibre with relatively few calories, making it easier to maintain a calorie deficit without feeling deprived.
4. Walk daily
Walking is one of the safest and most sustainable forms of exercise. Aim for 8,000–12,000 steps daily, or at least 150 minutes of moderate activity per week.
5. Strength train 2–3 times per week
Resistance training helps maintain muscle while losing fat, which supports metabolism and body composition.
6. Cut “invisible” calories
Many people lose weight by reducing alcohol, soft drinks and juices, large coffee drinks, refined snacking [like chips and biscuits] and takeaway meals.
7. Get good quality sleep
Poor sleep can increase hunger and cravings and make sticking to healthy habits more difficult. When you’re sleep-deprived Ghrelin (the hormone that makes you feel hungry) increases and Leptin (the hormone that tells you you’re full) decreases. This can make you feel hungrier throughout the day and more likely to overeat.
