Xiaomi’s New Electric Sedan Redefined the Race Against Porsche
According to SHAHEDNEWS, Xiaomi’s CEO revealed that the company’s new electric sedan has recently broken the Porsche Taycan’s record at the Nürburgring track. Lei Jun, CEO of Xiaomi, recently announced that the SU7 Ultra, boasting 1,527 horsepower, managed to record a time of 6 minutes and 46.874 seconds at the Nürburgring. If accurate, this time is over 20 seconds faster than the Taycan Turbo GT with the Weissach package, which includes the removal of the rear seat.
Even the Rimac Nevera hypercar, with its four motors as the fastest production electric vehicle at the track, could only post a time of 7 minutes and 5.20 seconds.
Xiaomi introduced the Ultra concept version in July, which generated up to 2,145 kilograms of downforce while weighing only 1,900 kilograms (about 465 kg lighter than a Porsche Taycan Turbo GT). Its triple-motor system can accelerate the concept car to 100 km/h in 1.97 seconds, reach 200 km/h in 5.97 seconds, and surpass 300 km/h in 15 seconds.
