SHAHEDNEWS: These days, we often hear the name "BB Cream," and we see it being used in almost every makeup tutorial video. But what is BB cream, and why is it necessary to use it? BB stands for "Beauty Balm" or "Blemish Balm.
According to SHAHEDNEWS, BB creams, or Beauty Balms, are products designed to simplify skincare routines by using a single product instead of multiple ones. This multifunctional skincare-makeup product can replace five or even six daily items, including moisturizer, primer, sunscreen, concealer, and foundation. BB cream, short for "Beauty Balms" or "Blemish Balms," was first developed in Germany by a dermatologist to create a cream with both therapeutic and covering properties for post-laser care. This all-in-one formulation was initially embraced in South Korea and then spread across Asia. In the United States, BB creams first appeared in stores in the spring of 2011. Today, almost all brands, from drugstore brands offering BB creams priced under $10 to luxury and specialized brands offering them for over $100, have entered the market with their versions of BB creams.
It depends. According to the American Academy of Dermatology, if your BB cream contains effective sun protection filters with broad-spectrum protection (against both UVA and UVB rays) and has an SPF of 30 or higher, it can be sufficient for daily use when you're not constantly exposed to sunlight, and there is no need for separate sunscreen.
However, if you are going to be exposed to the sun for long periods (such as during travel, picnics, or hiking), BB creams may not be a suitable replacement for sunscreen. This is because, to fully protect against both UVA and UVB rays, you would need to apply about half a teaspoon of sunscreen to your face and reapply it every two hours. In such cases, it is recommended to use a sunscreen with a higher SPF and broad-spectrum protection.
BB creams do many things, but they aren't specialists in any one area. Although they contain SPF, they can't always replace a specialized sunscreen. Despite having moisturizing properties, due to the presence of sunscreen and mattifying ingredients, they may not perform as well as a dedicated moisturizer. Since BB creams are meant to create a light feeling on the skin, they may not offer the same coverage as a foundation. However, none of these aspects are considered weaknesses of BB creams, as it is not possible to achieve all these goals in one formulation.
BB creams have multiple ingredients and abilities, making them versatile and excellent products for daily use.

They are beneficial for the skin and can help ensure skin health.
They provide medium to good coverage for your skin.
They have moisturizing, sunscreen, and therapeutic properties.
Along with giving you makeup, they enhance your skin's natural beauty, radiance, and clarity.
BB creams can be a great product for travel, as they can replace several different products.
They help you achieve healthy, beautiful skin in the shortest time possible.
One of the interesting features of this cream is its even coverage. For example, on days when your skin has no pimples or acne, and your skin tone is consistent across your face, you can apply a layer of BB cream. However, on days when you have blemishes or your forehead and cheeks have different tones, you can first apply the BB cream specifically to those areas and then continue with your makeup to make your skin radiant and even.
Always apply the BB cream or BB foundation using a makeup brush. Of course, you can use your fingers to spread it on your skin, and you may be quite skilled at it, but the best way to achieve an even layer is by using a foundation brush. The brush helps the cream spread evenly across your skin, and it ensures that the next layers of makeup apply more smoothly. It also prevents transferring bacteria, oils, and dirt from your hands or under your nails to your skin. However, make sure to clean your makeup brush weekly to keep your tools sanitized. This practice greatly helps in preventing acne and excess oil on your skin.
"CC Cream" stands for "Color Correcting. CC creams offer higher coverage compared to BB creams, yet they are still lighter than foundation. They are more effective for skin tones that tend toward yellow or have age spots, as CC creams are better at correcting skin tone. On the other hand, BB creams are more focused on preventing skin damage and maintaining skin health. However, remember that CC creams excel at covering blemishes and correcting skin tone compared to BB creams.
"DD Cream" stands for "Daily Defense" and is less commonly known compared to BB and CC creams. One of the key features of DD creams is their anti-aging properties. Additionally, they are designed to protect the skin from harmful environmental factors such as air pollution.
