SHAHEDNEWS: The QS World University Rankings for the Arab Region 2024 are out, showcasing nearly 200 higher education institutions across the Arab world
According to SHAHEDNEWS, This ranking, first launched in 2014, evaluates universities based on a set of 10 criteria. These include academic reputation, employer reputation, faculty-to-student ratio, and international research collaborations.

Top 10 Universities in the Arab Region
King Fahd University has claimed the top spot in this year’s rankings. The university is renowned for its focus on science, engineering, and management, especially in the petroleum and minerals sectors. It excels in academic output, ranking high in research publications.
Moving up four places to second position, KSU is celebrated for its strong academic reputation and robust international research network. Established in 1957, KSU was the first university in Saudi Arabia, offering free tuition and scholarships to both local and international students.

Despite dropping to fourth place, AUB remains highly respected, especially among employers. It’s the only university in Lebanon to rank within the top 10 and is situated in a prime location, making it easier for students to find job opportunities.
KAU, once the top university in the Arab region, is now in fifth place but maintains a strong presence in both the academic and employer reputation categories. Founded in 1967, it offers a diverse range of programs in various fields.
UAEU fell one spot to rank sixth this year. Established in 1976, it offers over 50 undergraduate programs and ranks high for its international research network and academic reputation.
Khalifa University improved its ranking to seventh place this year. Founded in 2007, it is known for its research programs and high-quality faculty, reflecting its commitment to providing an excellent educational experience.
A slight dip ranks the American University of Sharjah eighth this year. The university boasts a diverse student body and has earned top marks for its international faculty and student ratio.
The University of Jordan ranks ninth, being one of the best universities in the country. It has a strong focus on research and is regarded favorably by employers, making its graduates highly employable.
Falling to tenth place, Sultan Qaboos University is recognized for its research collaborations and quality of education. The university has scenic surroundings and remains a leading institution in Oman.
